Firefly ranks right up there

I think Fox didn’’t get what they had when Josh Weldon pitched them this show, after all, they put it on Friday night. Firefly ranks right up there with Star Trek, Star Wars.

Firefly is a science fiction/western TV series that aired on Fox for just one season. Created by Joss Whedon of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame, the ratings were poor and episodes were moved around. The show's fans, however, showed their loyalty. Through word of mouth and the DVD release of the series, Firefly's fanbase is growing every day. I even got a couple of my friends hooked on the series! Firefly's fans will finally be rewarded in 2005 when Serenity, the Universal Pictures movie based on the series, takes flight.
