Affirming natural compassion
When my children were young, I searched for a way to teach them how to care for children in developing countries. I discovered the most effective way to affirm the natural compassion in my sons. Every fall my kids and I would shop for presents for children their age, wrap the packages and send them to kids all over the world through Operation Christmas Child. It became a family tradition and now, my grown children do the same thing with their children. Now we not only send gifts for kids, but buy water filters for villages and provide donations for disaster relief in countries torn apart by war and disease. This 'brand' has helped us feel we are making a bit of a difference in the world. It has grown the heart of our family.
