Cherry Ripe is a brand of chocolate bar manufactured in Australia by Cadbury. It consists of a cherry and coconut mix covered in chocolate.

My girlfriend loves these things, we can no longer get them in New Zealand and so I'm now having to surf the net to please her, paying huge freight bills, because though they are still in the shops in OZ, all links sell from the USA. What has happened to all those Aussie entrepreneurs?

An expression of love
I think it is gorgeous! Cherries are indeed the most beautiful expression of love....in addition they are absolutely delicious and a feast for the eyes as well as for the tummy.

Sentimental treat
I remember going to the movies with my parents as a little girl, and Dad would always buy Mum a Cherry Ripe [chocolate bar. I imagine him smiling as he gave it to her, confident that she would like it, pleased that for once he knew what she wanted. Now I am a mother and my husband buys me a Cherry Ripe when he feels I need a special treat. I love chocolate but the Cherry Ripe is special, not because it tastes better but because of its sentimental associations. Perhaps one day my children will find themselves eating Cherry Ripes too.
