  • A few great memories

A few great memories - listening to "Several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict" from Ummagumma and thinking "what the...". But loving the whole idea and the sounds. Secondly seeing the concert at Western Springs in Auckland in 1988 - 60,000 attended, I think it finished with Run like Hell. Met Dave Gilmore the day before, really nice guy. He hired a band of buskers off the street to play at the after party, they were called (i think) The Ebling Brothers and they were very happy campers on the night...although they did not recognise him when he approached them in the street to ask them to play. Lastly seeing 'The Wall' several times, loved the animations and the rich cinamotography.

  • They fill my life

Well...Simply, I wouldn't be bothered if they take away all the musicians and music and tones in the world and they just leave out the Floyds. They are so full in calorie music. They fill my life and they are the soundtrack of my remaining days. Oh I am 29, by the way. Hail to the Floyds. RIP Syd and Rick!

  • They will remain timeless.

To understand the lyrics of Pink Floyd is to ascend to a place beyond the mysteries of what we perceive as reality. They will remain timeless.

  • Anything but commercial, trendy or superficial

The music of this band is timeless. The album Dark Side of the Moon was in the Top 200 charts for 591 consecutive weeks from 1976 to 1987 and returned to the top of the charts in 1991. Pink Floyd ranks seventh among bands in number of albums sold in the U.S. I personally have found this band to be anything but commercial, trendy or superficial. I have connected to their music and image in what I almost religiously describe as a 'Divine Spark'.

  • Bringing back a smile

Albums by Pink Floyd can bring back memories from a long time ago. It was in the early and mid 70's, and I was much younger and more naive, yet these memories still bring back a smile.

  • A dream that will live forever

I have got all their albums. At the age of 16 I knew most of their works by heart. Yet, my first chance to see the band was in 2002 when the former band leader Roger Waters was touring Europe with his ‘In the Flesh’ show. The only place I could still find tickets was in Copenhagen, so I flew from Bucharest to see the concert. I took all my CD booklets with me determined to meet Roger and have him sign my collection. I tried for two hours to get someone to help me meet the band, till finally I got a lucky break. After the show I got together with the band and we spent a couple of hours having fun and telling stories. Roger signed my entire collection and gave my one year old son a dedication on the gig booklet. The band/ dream will live forever.

  • The beautiful and the sophisticated

The ultimate lovemark of my teenage years. For us kids and youth behind the Iron Curtain, Pink Floyd's music and poetry has been our secret way to remain sensitive and thinking people in times when being sensitive and thinking could mean persecution and repression. The refined magic worlds of Roger Waters, David Gilmour and the other genius guys from Pink Floyd have helped me and many of my friends grow to appreciate the beautiful and the sophisticated.
