Chevrolet

Chevrolet

There was nothing quite like it: the feeling I got from riding shotgun in the front seat of my daddy’s big Chevy pickup truck. From the time I was a little girl, I loved taking rides in my dad’s truck-even if it was just going into town for a quick errand, or down the road to my grandpa’s house. Wherever we went, we took the Chevy. There was something about that Chevy pickup truck that represented everything my dad was, and still is to me. Strength, power, the ability to make me feel safe and secure - all these things are attributes of my father. With my dad having owned a Chevy truck ever since I can remember, I have come to love this brand. It is not just a product in my eyes, and it is not simply a name. Chevy is memories of my childhood and fond thoughts of my father. Chevrolet is my Lovemark because it represents someone that I love so very much: It is so much more than just a brand to me.

Converse

Converse

When I think about the things that I love in life, the list is one that could stretch from the Swiss Alps to Tiananmen Square in China. To minimize this list I thought about things that make me feel great, and shoes seemed to pop into the lead in that category. Now I love shoes of all kinds but Converse Chuck Taylors seemed to be a long-lasting tradition not only in my life, but also in American Culture. Chuck Taylors are the most successful shoe in history and are worn by people of all ages, shapes, races and cultures. My 1st pair of shoes that I bought on my own was a pair of red Converse Chucks and the legacy has followed me to this day. Chuck Taylors are used in many facets from sporting shoes to the typical every day foot attire. Chuck Taylor represent American History from their 1st inception in 1917. Chuck Taylor All-Star shoes bring me back to a happy place where life is nothing but another day in the park.

Dove

Dove

As an 8 year-old girl at my first camp in newly reconstructing Poland, I’ve came pretty prepared with my toiletries. My mom equipped me with a bar of soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, but I think I might’ve forgotten my self-confidence. During a time when all of us girls went about our daily hygiene rituals, this one girl (whose father was a rich pastry-maker in our town) brought out her snow white large sized bar of Dove soap. I can’t fully describe to you the envy that overtook me when I saw how much that Dove soap lathered, and how wonderfully clean it smelled. It was crisp, yet balmy, and suddenly, whatever it was that mom gave me that resembled soap was a second class option. It didn’t really hit me again until last year, when, shopping for body wash, I walked by Dove products and I smelled the original white bar of soap. It may sound silly, but it filled me with memories of camp, and how wonderfully youthful and naïve my life once was. This one was, of course, my winner. I purchased a big pack of Dove soap and I hurried home impatiently to take a long shower that evening. May I just say it was delightful! That bar of soap is here to stay. Dove soap is my Lovemark.

Fender

Fender

Anyone who has ever played, made, or sold electric guitars will tell you that you can never go wrong with a Fender. The Fender Stratocaster is, without hesitation, the most popular electric guitar in the world, and for good reason. It symbolizes a radical evolution of design and sound. I remember the day my dad and one of his friends went to Charley’s Guitar Shop in Dallas, Texas, to buy a guitar. He came home with a Fender Strat and played it at least once a day for as long as I can remember. I later found out that the friend who picked out the guitar was actually Stevie Ray Vaughan. I grew up listening to Clapton, Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt, and, later in life, John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and John Mayer- all incendiary guitar players, all playing Fender Strats. Stevie Ray Vaughan played a Strat from Charley’s and so did my dad. That’s why the Fender Stratocaster is my Lovemark, and it’s also why I wouldn’t think of playing anything else.

Whole Foods

Whole Foods

I love Whole Foods with a passion! This is the only store that I buy food from because I am a health nut and they boast local organic bakeries/farms. The employees are very friendly and know everything about the store and location. There is always somebody available to help throughout your time shopping. One day a week they have food samples and free wine tasting, on that day my boyfriend and I have a free dinner date at Whole Foods. Also, they occasionally offer yoga lessons. Whole Foods carries a vast variety of quality products from around the world and has diverse departments. I will always be a loyal customer to Whole Foods.
