The Apple Blog

The Apple Blog

The Apple Blog is run by Josh Pigford and a staff of over 25 writers. The blog started in November 2004 with a few guys writing and reporting on Apple as much they could. The Apple Blog now reaches over 250,000 readers each and every month.

LMKS: What is the premise behind The Apple Blog?

The Apple Blog: The Apple Blog started as an outlet for writing about things related to Apple past just reporting the news. One of the keywords in our title is “blog”, so while we do report news events, we always throw in our personal opinions to really bring about more discussion of the topic.

LMKS: What do you think makes Apple a Lovemark?

TAB: Usability and good design. Their products, on the surface, really abide to the “less is more mentality,” but what is so great is that underneath the surface are extremely capable products. Apple provides products that work in favor of the user. A lot of companies make products that THEY think are great but fail to take into consideration what their users actually want. Apple also embodies inspiration by providing products that help with the creative process.

LMKS: An idea associated with Lovemarks is the idea of Loyalty Beyond Reason. In thinking about Apple, how, in broad terms, does one exhibit loyalty?

TAB: Usability really does seem to embody loyalty. It pushes customer wants/needs to the front by providing something that really just plain works.

LMKS: Through your blog, what have you learned about the Apple community?

TAB: Apple users are passionate. They love Apple products because, as cheesy and cliché as it sounds, Apple loves them back.

LMKS: If The Apple Blog could provide Apple with one bit of advice on how they can improve their brand or product(s), what would it be?

TAB: Release stuff more often!
