Haul is a range of messenger bags made from old advertising banners. These billboard bags are built in Melbourne by a mob called Urban Boomerang who make all kinds of funky recycled accessories like photo albums from used number plates. I stumbled onto the bags at the Esplanade market in St. Kilda. The best thing about my billboard bag is that it's a one off...no one else has a bag like mine (which is made from a BMW billboard). It's like urban art. Go Haul!
Matt Irwin is Melbourne's best photographer. He captures the city in ways others simply can't. His images aren't cheesy and they draw from Melbourne's industrial heart. My friends overseas really get where I live when I send them some of his work.
