    • My gratitude runs deep...

      Apple

      01 June 2005

From the 100 Mhz big gray box I started with ten years ago, to the 1.25 Ghz sleek little mini Apple computer I am using today, my love has not diminished. I use PCs at work (when forced) and find them clunky, awkward, and lumbering. I can barely draw stick figures on them, but with the Mac, I became an artist. My gratitude runs deep...

    • Reminds us why we often pair food and love

      Whole Foods

      01 June 2005

Whole Foods returns food to the fundimental celebration that moves us at the base of our being. From the brown bag lunch packed lovingly by Mom, to the lavish Thanksgiving table - food is such an intregal part of our lives. Other chains make food feel packaged and cheap - a mere commodity. Whole Foods reminds us why we often pair food and love together.

    • Like dancing the Samba with an angel

      Green & Black's

      01 June 2005

This chocolate is not easy to find in the United States, but oh so worth the extra effort. Perfect chocolate - balance, smoothness, rich, but not overpowering. This chocolate is like dancing the Samba with an angel.

    • The world might be a much better place

      Good Vibrations

      01 June 2005

A sex friendly, positive store. The world might be a much better place if every city and large town had one. I like taking people there. They can't believe I am taking them to a "sex shop", but once inside the doors they are amazed at how comfortable, happy and healthy the whole experience is.

    • Finally getting his due

      Hugh Laurie

      13 November 2006

Known to most as the crankiest doctor television has ever spawned Hugh Laurie’s star is shining bright. After twenty years entertaining Britain as a goofy comic, Laurie is finally getting his due as the talented, deft and genuine article he deserves. This Renaissance man not only acts, but writes (The Gun Seller) and plays the piano and guitar - and the most annoying thing of all is no one can say a bad word about him. He’s been dubbed "the thinking women’s sex symbol" - oh yes, he’s all that and a bag of chips.

    • A tender and blunt look at life

      Six Feet Under

      13 November 2006

SFU takes a tender and blunt look at life by looking through the lens of death, when people are at their most vulnerable. The Fisher family is filled with complex and flawed characters who manage to frustrate and delight - you know, like real people. Writing and acting on an extraordinary level about ordinary lives. I love this show!

    • Why oh why do I love Paris?

      Paris

      13 November 2006

Paris changes you. If you haven’t been you will not understand, but if you have you already know. Achingly beautiful, frustratingly metropolitan, and endlessly fascinating. I visted for ten days (cat sitting for friends!), but I never truly left. My heart literally aches when I see a Parisian scene on the tv or in a film. Why oh why do I love Paris? It is impossible to explain.

    • I love to say Ticonderoga!

      Dixon Ticonderoga

      15 November 2006

Great writing instrument. Nostalgic in taste, smell, sight and touch. Best of all . . . I love to say Ticonderoga!

    • Responsible companies deserve support

      Timberland

      15 November 2006

I have always regarded Timberland is a sturdy, outdoorsy brand. But I just saw the President, Jeffrey Swartz on the Colbert Report, and I was blown away by his passion for preserving the environment and community involvement. Not being the outdoorsy type I’ve never owned a Timberland product. But I will, and soon. Responsible companies deserve support.

    • All things Hostess remind me of my childhood

      Hostess Sno Balls

      18 November 2006

How can something so disgusting be so darned good? Granted, the Hostess snowball isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but all things Hostess remind me of my childhood. From the Freuduan mounds to the mysterious "cream" inside it is unique. There is nothing else that looks feels, smells or tastes like this confection. Jeez, now I have to go out and find a package and sink my teeth once again into my childhood.
