• A double whammy

  The effect of Colin Chapman's maxim of "add lightness" shows in my Seven and my Europa S2 when comparing them with my Porsche 928S4. But 1.6 litres against 5 litres, to say nothing of the cost, still means similar performance and fun. My race number for the Seven is 123, chosen for the Lotus spreadsheet [a double whammy for the world's best now sadly submerged by the appalling Excel from Microsoft].

  The most underestimated car in South Africa is the 928; the business man's express, as used by the mechanics in the Stuttgart factory, one of the few car's that appreciates in value. Also the the only one with a J-Lo back end!!

• Makes Harleys sound like toys

  I have had a Porsche 928S4 for 3 years now and, not only is it the only car with a J-Lo back end, it is the most under-rated and magic secret I have ever driven. This after having had a BMW 333, a 735, a 740 and I still have a Lotus Europa and a Lotus Seven. That 5 litre exhaust note makes Harleys sound like toys!! All the best from South Africa.
