I love Elvis Costello more than any other singer (Chet Baker being a close second). Costello's first album, My Aim is True, touched me so deeply. His song "Alison", from the same LP, is heart wrenching. His unique voice, smart lyrics, and fantastic back up band(s) are all a part of why I can't live without his music. I also love his nerdy look, the pork pie hats of today and the funky 80's tiny neck ties and the big glasses of yesteryear. I actually DO NOT get into music at all and only own a handful of CDs because most music just doesn't move me but Elvis is the exception.
The Alien series has fascinated me for years. I love the Ripley character because she is tough in spite of not being at all prepared for what is happening and I think that the Aliens sequel was an even better example of that. The special effects are terrific, the story is engrossing, the characters are well-written, and the alien creature design is deeply scary. I've watched Aliens at least 20 times and this is the strangest thing... If you were to ask me what my three favorite movies are I'd say: Aliens, When Harry Met Sally, and the Sound of Music. How strange is that!
Maurice Sendak's illustrations are sublime and the story is simple but compelling. I had the opportunity to hear Sendak speak recently and I feel that his stories come from a magical place...
Audrey Hepburn breaks my heart in every movie I've seen her in. I think one of my all time favorite moments in film is when she's looking for Cat at the end of Breakfast at Tiffany's and George Peppard and she kiss in the rain. I love everything about her, from her terrific fashion style to her childhood story of surviving the war...she makes you feel like you know her because she seemed so open and kind.
I love this film. I was forbidden to see it when it was in the theatres back in the 70s. Actually now I can thank my parents for being smart enough to know that I'd never sleep again if I saw it at age 9! Maybe not being allowed to see it is part of why I am obsessed with it now. I think Roy Schneider's performance is amazing and that the ship captain's story about his WWII experience is one of the all time great moments in film. I love that it scares me to death. I can barely make myself go snorkeling because I keep hearing the Jaws theme in my mind! This film is near and dear to my heart because it's a great story with great performances.
What can I say about John Lennon? Words seem inadequate. He represents all the best to me: intellect, charity, generosity, courage, political conviction, passion. I first fell in love with Lennon because of his music with the Beatles, then I read a few biographies on him and became interested in his musical collaborations with Yoko Ono. I love him because his music makes me feel joyful. A sign that he meant a lot to me occured recently when I saw a pic of he and John Kerry together during the anti-war protests and I said outloud, "That does it! I'm voting for Kerry!"
I can't believe I'm listing Coke as a Lovemark when it's not regular Coke that I am addicted to - it's Diet Coke. I am strangely compelled to drink only this soda. Even when I don't feel like having caffeine or a dark soda, I will pick this over all other brands. I guess I love the red and white can and that it has some bite too it and no weird after-taste like Diet Pepsi.
Edgar Allan Poe is one of my all time favorite writers. I love his work because it's dark, romantic, tragic. Annabelle Lee is a great piece, in addition to all of his other well-known short stories and poems. His tragic death and short life also make a compelling story.
This was a great sci fi show and so smartly written. I always love a strong female lead and Gillian Anderson was perfect in this role. loved this show because it was haunting, romantic at times, creative, engrossing...I loved it so much that I once fell down a flight of stairs when I heard the X-files theme come on the tv set. Broke some bones! But I still have really fond memories of this excellent series.
Target's coming! Target's coming! I'm so thrilled it's finally coming to Northern Manhattan/Marble Hill. I've loved Target for years and could only visit it once or twice a year when I went home to the midwest. Target means affordable accessories and really cool cosmetics in a big, open space...now that it carries Isaac Mizrahi fashions, I'm even more addicted. I also love their Target logo. It's like Wal-Mart prices with better quality design.
I love Sephora because I can finally go to one place and see all the makeup lines together and I can try things on without the pressure of a sales associate. I love that they give you samples and gift wrap things for free and their black and white logo/packaging is really sleek. I won't buy cosmetics anywhere else.
I have loved Star Trek since I was a kid. I can rewatch old episodes now, even if I've seen them all at least twenty times before. I love the characters, the story lines, the actors. The theme song is excellent. I can't believe how well done this was and that it only lasted a couple of seasons!
Seeing this movie for the first time was like a spiritual experience for me. When I told someone this recently they said I must be crazy but I was shocked that not everyone felt as intensely as I did about Star Wars. First, I'd never seen special effects like that before and I really felt transported to a different time and place. And the characters were so well written and the story was touching. This made me suddenly develop a deep interest in science fiction and fantasy film that affects me to this day.
Visiting Paris was one of the most romantic experiences of my life. Gorgeous architecture, fantastic food, great art, and you can still smoke there! Ha. The only real negative about Paris now is that the Euro is so pricey that we can't afford to go as often as we'd like.
Love, love, love Monty Python! Holy Grail was one of my favourite movies as a kid and none of my girlfriends got their humor. Monty Python makes me laugh so hard. They are hilarious, irreverent, silly!
Michael Moore is so strong, shows such courage. I really admire his willingness to devote his life to exposing those who abuse power. I was at a restaurant recently and talking about Farenheit 9/11 when a man seated near us joined in the conversation. He happened to be African American and said, "Michael Moore is like Martin Luther King." I was shocked that he would make that comparision and when I asked why he said it was because he had the courage to fight those in power and challenge the power structure. Go Michael!
Okay, I still love this band. When I was a teenager I thought they were the best, though as I got older I realized that their music was pretty awful. But they still have a special place in my heart because their songs were catchy and remind me of the 80s and being a kid. I still know each band member's name and unfortunately recall some of their birthdays. (Why is that useless knowledge lodged in my brain?)
You gotta love Bowie. From Ziggy Stardust to his Alladin Sane to his 80s Let's Dance period to present day, this guy has class. He is mysterious, smart, creative, elegant.
I love Dr. Pepper. Remember the theme song from the 70s? I'm a pepper she's a pepper wouldn't you like to be a pepper too? My husband says it tastes like prunes but I think it's got a cool, funky taste. Reminds me of being a kid...it's more unique than Coke too. Love the can.
Adore this show. Loved the lead actress as Samantha. In fact, loved it so much that I've always thought if I had a daughter I'd name her after Samantha! So sweet and funny, this is a classic.
Another classic TV show that has a special place in my heart. The theme song is catchy, the stories are absurd and creative. Larry Hagman is a great straight man and Barbara Eden is so loveable as Jeannie.
I do adore these shoes! I never wore them as a kid but as an adult, they just add a fun element to my outfits. Love the black and white high tops. Makes me feel happy and young, funky!
Every woman I know who grew up on the 70's loves Wonder Woman, and I mean loves her. We all grew up with the Linda Carter TV series, and had fun pretending to deflect bullets with our bracelets. There is just something about her cool red, white and blue costume with the eagle. We all want a truth lasso too! And that theme song, so dorky but fondly remembered.
The most wonderful crooner for classic ballads and a terrific jazz musician. Forget Ole Blue Eyes, Chet Baker is the best! I love him because of the way he interprets songs, for his sad life story (such a gorgeous young man who then became addicted to drugs and died in a horrible way). Chet Baker Sings is one of my favorite CDs.
Love Ben and Jerry's! They are socially responsible while producing the best ice cream! I love Everything But the (Kitchen Sink) ice cream. No other icec ream stacks up to Ben and Jerry's and I love the pics on the cartons and the silly names of the flavors!
Edward Gorey's stories and drawings are completely unique. Creepy little black and white line drawings illustrate bizarre tales. However odd his characters and stories are, I find them adorable and compelling. The Gashley Crumb Tinies is a really weird alphabet book that is illustrated with images and stories about how little children have met untimely deaths. Totally morbid and hilarious, strangely cuddly! The illustrations are incredible black pen and ink drawings. I also love the tiny size of his books and how it fits in my hand and the cover w/death/a skeleton standing over the children is great. I love it because I feel like it's a guilty pleasure to laugh at the gory way the kids meet their maker.
How can you not love Jimmy Stewart? I fell in love with him in Rear Window. What an actor! So sweet, self effacing but proud, courageous. His acting was so emotional, so real.
"My name is Shakezoola, the Mike Ruler, the Old Schoolah!" This is the funniest thing on TV today. How on earth they made a TV show with a cast of characters including a milkshake, a box of fries, and a meatball is beyond me. Makes me laugh until I cry. I have to quote them all the time, from the Drizzler to the spider who poses as a child rap star, this has me in stitches!
You gotta love Spiderman. I've loved Spidey since I was a little kid. Had the comics around, never watched the cartoons...hey, I'm a purist! The movies are sweet, Toby Maguire brings something very special to the role. Thank God Ben Affleck wasn't the knee jerk choice for every role in Hollywood!

I have deeply loved the Beatles from day one. Great music that gets better every time you hear it and such interesting characters! Every stage of their development is marked by great music. This is the ultimate Lovemark. The Beatles are loved for their personalities almost as much as their music. So sad it had to end.

SNL equals fun, joy, irreverence! In every incarnation, I love it. From the classic 70's years to now. Made every Saturday night fun. A new home for some of my favorite SCTV (Second City Television) alums - a show that was actually funnier than SNL in its day.
I ADORED this as a kid and now very few people know what I'm talking about! Martin Short in the Jackie Rogers Jr. Show, an albino entertainer with a lisp and a silver jumpsuit...classic! Bob and Doug McKenzie, c'mon! It was actually funnier than SNL in its day!
I am pretty darned addicted to the Sunday New York Times and I read it online every day. I trust this to give me the real news, since outlets I used to use like the Today Show don't really focus on hard news anymore.
I loved this from day one on the Tracy Ullman show. Irreverent humor, totally creative for, what is it now, ten years? I especially love the Halloween episodes!
I loved the X-Men comics when I was a kid, especially the Storm and Phoenix characters. Wolverine is of course a favorite. As much as I love Hugh Jackman and the way he played that role, the movies just don't live up to the books. Gotta say, Iman should have played Storm. Anyway, I am very passionate about the X-Men because each character was unique, the comic book stories were so dramatic and the artists/illustrators did a great job.
Another tv show I've been addicted to recently. The characters are so well written and the acting is terrific. You really care about each character and every week it made me laugh. Seeing it "cleaned up" for re-runs on TBS makes me appreciate how great it was when it left in the bawdy language and situations. A true original.
Makeup Alley is a website for people addicted to cosmetics. I love it because it's interactive, with a really active chat board and a rating system for products. I've turned on several people to the site and can't seem to stop checking it every five minutes!
I was so addicted to this TV show. It was utterly unique, mysterious, magical, a puzzle... Kyle Mclaughlin was perfect in the lead role. The sound track/theme song was totally creepy and cool. All of the characters were whacky. I wish someone had the vision and guts to put something interesting like this on TV again!
Pat is the best thing about waking up in the morning, well, he's a close second after a good cup of coffee. Watching him reading the headlines in "In the Papers" every day makes me laugh... he isn't afraid to openly diss crass stuff like J.Lo's "career" and other absurd things. He's adorable and I never want him to leave (hoping he comes back from the 'reality TV' series he's supposed to be hosting)!
I didn't think we needed this but now I can't live without Tivo. I love being in control of what I watch on tv, not having to watch commercials, being able to fast forward through boring junk! And I love being able to record movies with all my favorite actors and being able to select movies by genre like sci fi. I could do without the booping sound every time I change the channel and the little theme song and dancing tv box are a bit lame and the remote is overly phallic but I still love it!
I truly, deeply love this movie. So touching, romantic, great music and terrific acting. Grew up listening to the soundtrack and watching re-runs of it on network television. It is one of the rare films that seems even better when you view it 20 years later. Makes me think about spending quality time with my family because we'd all watch it together.
Why am I addicted to this movie? It's funny, romantic...I love Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal is hilarious. I don't know why this resonates with me like it does. The last scene is so lovely, when it's New Year's and Sally tells Harry she hates him but you see in her eyes that she's really saying she loves him. Aw, I love this film!
This movie really got to me. I loved the incredible special effects and the trippy storyline. I think the cool leather costumes and great set design were key. Carrie Anne Moss and Laurence Fishburne gave such great performances -- I still think about that film constantly!
I just love this odd candy, from the purple and black and white package to the funky licorice candy inside. I enjoy the sound of the candy rattling in the box and I like it because it's not as popular as other candies so I see it as unique. Love the chewy texture and like to have it with ice water to make the flavor even more pronounced.
Okay, I admit it, I love to read about celebrities and how they waste their multi-million dollar paychecks on gold wastebaskets. That and the fashion tips... This is the only mag I can't live without every month. There is something about the way it looks, the way the text and photos are laid out that really appeals to me.
I fell in love with this movie when I first saw it back in the 80's. It's got the kind of sci-fi storyline that I love, but with a unique, 'snarky' sense of humour, very dark humour! I still think about this movie a lot because the acting was first rate and I think it influenced many films that came after it.
Paul Verhoeven did it again with Starship Troopers. Okay, what lousy casting of B movie actors that couldn't get cast in a tv soap opera but this is a guilty pleasure that I had to include. I do love it! I love the special effects and the bizarre alien creatures and the silly backstory. I have to watch it every time it's on TV and have discovered a terrific animated series under the same name.
I LOVE Dr Bronner's soap because it's wrapped in the most bizarre label. Each bottle of liquid soap is covered in the creator's favorite philosophical sayings and weird mottos. It's really sorta sweet because it's all about peace and love but you'd think a serial killer designed the packaging! And it is a great product, smells divine. I love peppermint and lavender best. It's also sort of obscure (which I like!) and you can only get it in a few funky drug stores like Bigelow's in NYC. Dr. Bronner, a nut with a knack for making soap!
Debbie Harry was the coolest rock chick ever. Love this band's music- disco era, but transcends that period. I can listen to "Heart of Glass" and "Rapture" and love them just as much today as I did then. Blondie is cool because they were real, having come up in the 70's, punk NYC, so they seem more authentic than a lot of the other bands that were popular on the radio at the time. And of course, Debbie Harry is gorgeous and has unique style.
I discovered this in Paris and was thrilled to find it in NYC grocery stores. Tasty, tangy, soft cheese w/the coolest packaging. Comes in a wheel and you take out individually wrapped slices and it's fun to peel them out of the foil. The laughing cow logo is cute too.
Harrison Ford seems like the perfect Lovemark to nominate. Everyone respects him and has a soft place in their heart for him because we all identify Ford w/his heroic roles. From Han Solo to Indiana Jones to his later roles in Patriot Games and the Fugitive, he's this generation's Bogart.
Best lip balm ever. Comes in a retro looking tin, so pleasing to open it every morning! Terrific, light texture, love the pale pink color and very faint rose scent. Kieh'ls can keep their lip balm and MAC can keep their lipglass, this is my lip balm for life!
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the only television series that ever took over my nightly life. I discovered it after it had already been on the air for three years and had assumed it was juvenille entertainment. It is so much more than that! I got caught up in it because I loved seeing a woman action hero taking charge. Week after week I got to see great action but more importantly I got to follow the story lines of several characters who were so well-written that they seemed like real people. The writing is also the most clever dialogue I've EVER heard on network television. I also appreciate the underlying message of self-sacrifice for one's community, family and friends. My husband was really glad when the series ended because I refused to do anything else on Tuesday nights for the run of the show!
Okay, this seems like an odd thing to nominate but I use Cetaphil religiously and preach to others about its qualities. This is an inexpensive face cleanser that is so gentle it can also just be used alone as a moisturizer. I love the big, blue labeled bottle and the smooth texture. It's the first and only thing I've ever found to wash my face that isn't drying.
What a great Lovemark! He represents the hope that our country can return to being a role model for the world. I really respect him for having the strength and courage to be our leader after the horror of the Bush administration. He actually served in a war (hello, Bush was having cocktails stateside while others put their lives on the line) and yet he had the compassion and courage to come back to the U.S. and protest the Vietnam War. And he's tough enough to love a strong woman!
Dr. Whoooo, Dr. Who, Dr. Whooooo....I'm obsessed w/this show and I've never seen it, seriously! I adore the Daleks and the style of the later Dr. Who, striped scarf and funky hat! I'm getting my first Dr. Who DVD's this week. This show must be cool if you can love it without seeing a whole episode. P.S. Grew up in the midwest and local tv just never showed it. Netflix rocks!
Such a cool, influential show. I love Mrs. Peel, from her cool outfits to her casual attitude/calm in the face of danger. And Steed, how cute is he! It's hilarious to watch now, the silly props and plots. I just love that Mrs. Peel was kicking ass years before any other action heroines swung into action in film or tv. She's the original!
This movie has haunted me since childhood. I loved the music, costumes, set design, story, and performances. Bizarre, funny, touching, scary...the Oompa Loompas! Gene Wilder is genius!! At first I thought a remake would be an abomination but I'm willing to give Johnny Depp and Tim Burton a chance...
I love Isaac because he makes gorgeous clothes and has made an affordable line at Target. And he's really funny and over the top so it's entertaining just to watch him. I live in a poor section of Manhattan and we just got our first Target and the first thing I did was dash for the Mizrahi line and a little lady was standing there stroking one of his skirts and she said,"Isaac finally came to us!" Now that's a guy and a product worthy of a lovemark! We love you here in Inwood, Isaac!
Fresh Direct saved our lives! We live in a section of Manhattan that had no fresh meats or veggies until just recently. The first night we got a delivery from Fresh Direct we kept running to the window every time we heard a truck drive by. It was like waiting for Santa Claus! Thank God for Fresh Direct, no more walking 10 blocks with heavy groceries.
This was my favorite cartoon when I was a kid. I am constantly telling people about how great it was and am frustrated when very few people know what I'm talking about! This was a terrific action adventure cartoon about a young boy, his best friend, his dog Bandit, his scientific genius dad, and Race Banon - Johnny's bodyguard! The theme song and music throughout are the coolest. The stories were exciting and the characters compelling. I think this is a real Lovemark for me because I feel passionate, nostalgic, and protective of it! I really wish more people could experience it.
I love this HBO series about cops and cons because it shows the gray areas on both sides... the cops can be as bad as the drug dealers and the criminals can show their good, human side too. Excellent writing, acting, it's got it all. We love all of the actors. I really don't understand why this isn't winning Emmys and Golden Globes because it's one of the best things on TV.
This TV show was hilarious, totally irreverent and unique. I was shocked the first time I saw it. Jerry Blank has to be the most odd lead character ever in a TV series. I love it because it always made me laugh until I cried.

I am totally addicted to this makeup line because the product comes uniquely packaged in black rubber compacts and tubes. I also love the NARS logo...the type is so cool and bold. NARS names his lipsticks after cool movies and film stars. It's expensive but the packaging and bold colors compel me to keep buying.

Michael Moore is so strong, shows such courage. I really admire his willingness to devote his life to exposing those who abuse power. I was at a restaurant recently and talking about Farenheit 9/11 when a man seated near us joined in the conversation. He happened to be African American and said, "Michael Moore is like Martin Luther King." I was shocked that he would make that comparision and when I asked why he said it was because he had the courage to fight those in power and challenge the power structure. Go Michael!

Okay, I still love this band. When I was a teenager I thought they were the best, though as I got older I realized that their music was pretty awful. But they still have a special place in my heart because their songs were catchy and remind me of the 80s and being a kid. I still know each band member's name and unfortunately recall some of their birthdays. (Why is that useless knowledge lodged in my brain?)

Every woman I know who grew up on the 70's loves Wonder Woman, and I mean loves her. We all grew up with the Linda Carter TV series, and had fun pretending to deflect bullets with our bracelets. There is just something about her cool red, white and blue costume with the eagle. We all want a truth lasso too! And that theme song, so dorky but fondly remembered.

The most wonderful crooner for classic ballads and a terrific jazz musician. Forget Ole Blue Eyes, Chet Baker is the best! I love him because of the way he interprets songs, for his sad life story (such a gorgeous young man who then became addicted to drugs and died in a horrible way). Chet Baker Sings is one of my favorite CDs.

Edward Gorey's stories and drawings are completely unique. Creepy little black and white line drawings illustrate bizarre tales. However odd his characters and stories are, I find them adorable and compelling. The Gashley Crumb Tinies is a really weird alphabet book that is illustrated with images and stories about how little children have met untimely deaths. Totally morbid and hilarious, strangely cuddly! The illustrations are incredible black pen and ink drawings. I also love the tiny size of his books and how it fits in my hand and the cover w/death/a skeleton standing over the children is great. I love it because I feel like it's a guilty pleasure to laugh at the gory way the kids meet their maker.

How on earth they made a TV show with a cast of characters including a milkshake, a box of fries, and a meatball is beyond me. Makes me laugh until I cry. I have to quote them all the time, from the Drizzler to the spider who poses as a child rap star, this has me in stitches!

I loved the X-Men comics when I was a kid, especially the Storm and Phoenix characters. Wolverine is of course a favorite. As much as I love Hugh Jackman and the way he played that role, the movies just don't live up to the books. Gotta say, Iman should have played Storm. Anyway, I am very passionate about the X-Men because each character was unique, the comic book stories were so dramatic and the artists/illustrators did a great job.

Another tv show I've been addicted to recently. The characters are so well written and the acting is terrific. You really care about each character and every week it made me laugh. Seeing it "cleaned up" for re-runs on TBS makes me appreciate how great it was when it left in the bawdy language and situations. A true original.

I was so addicted to this TV show. It was utterly unique, mysterious, magical, a puzzle... Kyle Mclaughlin was perfect in the lead role. The sound track/theme song was totally creepy and cool. Pat is the best thing about waking up in the morning, well, he's a close second after a good cup of coffee. Watching him reading the headlines in "In the Papers" every day makes me laugh... he isn't afraid to openly diss crass stuff like J.Lo's "career" and other absurd things. He's adorable and I never want him to leave (hoping he comes back from the 'reality TV' series he's supposed to be hosting)!

I didn't think we needed this but now I can't live without Tivo. I love being in control of what I watch on tv, not having to watch commercials, being able to fast forward through boring junk! And I love being able to record movies with all my favorite actors and being able to select movies by genre like sci fi. I could do without the booping sound every time I change the channel and the little theme song and dancing tv box are a bit lame and the remote is overly phallic but I still love it!

I truly, deeply love this movie. So touching, romantic, great music and terrific acting. Grew up listening to the soundtrack and watching re-runs of it on network television. It is one of the rare films that seems even better when you view it 20 years later. Makes me think about spending quality time with my family because we'd all watch it together.

Why am I addicted to this movie? It's funny, romantic...I love Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal is hilarious. I don't know why this resonates with me like it does. The last scene is so lovely, when it's New Year's and Sally tells Harry she hates him but you see in her eyes that she's really saying she loves him. Aw, I love this film!

This movie really got to me. I loved the incredible special effects and the trippy storyline. I think the cool leather costumes and great set design were key. Carrie Anne Moss and Laurence Fishburne gave such great performances -- I still think about that film constantly!

I just love this odd candy, from the purple and black and white package to the funky licorice candy inside. I enjoy the sound of the candy rattling in the box and I like it because it's not as popular as other candies so I see it as unique. Love the chewy texture and like to have it with ice water to make the flavor even more pronounced.

I fell in love with this movie when I first saw it back in the 80's. It's got the kind of sci-fi storyline that I love, but with a unique, 'snarky' sense of humour, very dark humour! I still think about this movie a lot because the acting was first rate and I think it influenced many films that came after it. Paul Verhoeven did it again with Starship Troopers. Okay, what lousy casting of B movie actors that couldn't get cast in a tv soap opera but this is a guilty pleasure that I had to include. I do love it! I love the special effects and the bizarre alien creatures and the silly backstory. I have to watch it every time it's on TV and have discovered a terrific animated series under the same name.

I LOVE Dr Bronner's soap because it's wrapped in the most bizarre label. Each bottle of liquid soap is covered in the creator's favorite philosophical sayings and weird mottos. It's really sorta sweet because it's all about peace and love but you'd think a serial killer designed the packaging! And it is a great product, smells divine. I love peppermint and lavender best. It's also sort of obscure (which I like!) and you can only get it in a few funky drug stores like Bigelow's in NYC. Dr. Bronner, a nut with a knack for making soap!

Debbie Harry was the coolest rock chick ever. Love this band's music- disco era, but transcends that period. I can listen to "Heart of Glass" and "Rapture" and love them just as much today as I did then. Blondie is cool because they were real, having come up in the 70's, punk NYC, so they seem more authentic than a lot of the other bands that were popular on the radio at the time. And of course, Debbie Harry is gorgeous and has unique style.

I discovered this in Paris and was thrilled to find it in NYC grocery stores. Tasty, tangy, soft cheese w/the coolest packaging. Comes in a wheel and you take out individually wrapped slices and it's fun to peel them out of the foil. The laughing cow logo is cute too.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the only television series that ever took over my nightly life. I discovered it after it had already been on the air for three years and had assumed it was juvenille entertainment. It is so much more than that! I got caught up in it because I loved seeing a woman action hero taking charge. Week after week I got to see great action but more importantly I got to follow the story lines of several characters who were so well-written that they seemed like real people. The writing is also the most clever dialogue I've EVER heard on network television. I also appreciate the underlying message of self-sacrifice for one's community, family and friends. My husband was really glad when the series ended because I refused to do anything else on Tuesday nights for the run of the show!

This is an inexpensive face cleanser that is so gentle it can also just be used alone as a moisturizer. I love the big, blue labeled bottle and the smooth texture. I really respect him for having the strength and courage to be our leader after the horror of the Bush administration. He actually served in a war (hello, Bush was having cocktails stateside while others put their lives on the line) and yet he had the compassion and courage to come back to the U.S. and protest the Vietnam War. And he's tough enough to love a strong woman!

Dr. Whoooo, Dr. Who, Dr. Whooooo....I'm obsessed w/this show and I've never seen it, seriously! I adore the Daleks and the style of the later Dr. Who, striped scarf and funky hat! I'm getting my first Dr. Who DVD's this week. This show must be cool if you can love it without seeing a whole episode. P.S. Grew up in the midwest and local tv just never showed it. Netflix rocks!

Such a cool, influential show. I love Mrs. Peel, from her cool outfits to her casual attitude/calm in the face of danger. And Steed, how cute is he! I love Isaac because he makes gorgeous clothes and has made an affordable line at Target. And he's really funny and over the top so it's entertaining just to watch him. I live in a poor section of Manhattan and we just got our first Target and the first thing I did was dash for the Mizrahi line and a little lady was standing there stroking one of his skirts and she said,"Isaac finally came to us!" Now that's a guy and a product worthy of a lovemark! We love you here in Inwood, Isaac!

Fresh Direct saved our lives! We live in a section of Manhattan that had no fresh meats or veggies until just recently. The first night we got a delivery from Fresh Direct we kept running to the window every time we heard a truck drive by. It was like waiting for Santa Claus! Thank God for Fresh Direct, no more walking 10 blocks with heavy groceries.

This was my favorite cartoon when I was a kid. I am constantly telling people about how great it was and am frustrated when very few people know what I'm talking about! This was a terrific action adventure cartoon about a young boy, his best friend, his dog Bandit, his scientific genius dad, and Race Banon - Johnny's bodyguard! The theme song and music throughout are the coolest. The stories were exciting and the characters compelling. I think this is a real Lovemark for me because I feel passionate, nostalgic, and protective of it! I really wish more people could experience it.

I love this HBO series about cops and cons because it shows the gray areas on both sides... the cops can be as bad as the drug dealers and the criminals can show their good, human side too. Excellent writing, acting, it's got it all. We love all of the actors. I really don't understand why this isn't winning Emmys and Golden Globes because it's one of the best things on TV.

I am totally addicted to this makeup line because the product comes uniquely packaged in black rubber compacts and tubes. I also love the NARS logo...the type is so cool and bold. NARS names his lipsticks after cool movies and film stars. It's expensive but the packaging and bold colors compel me to keep buying.
