Surprise, surprise
IKEA
08 November 2003
What can I say about Ikea? It's the famous system to surprise the masses and me. Every time trendy and fashionable for less money. Its the important quantity between price and quality.
Anarchic and educating humor
Sesame Street
09 November 2003
Well, everyone on the globe loves Sesame Street. It exists in most countries and when I remember Jim Hensonīs characters I must smile about the anarchic and educating humor they brought me. I will never forget it.
A perfect hold
Post-it
17 November 2003
What should I tell you about Post-it? Everybody knows and uses it in the world! It's a simple and good tool. I've tested a lot of 'me too' products but only the original one fixes and holds as perfectly.
One of Hip Hop culture's forgotten Lovemarks
Kangol
07 April 2004
The famous Kangol is one of Hip Hop culture's forgotten Lovemarks. No other brand has ever hit me like this - with their own stylish take on the hat and cap. Initially produced for upper class golfers, soon Grand Master Flash was wearin' it, then it was quickly taken on by B-Boys, Graffiti Writers, Rappers, MC's & DJ's all over the globe. It has remained a symbol of their indifference to the rest of the mainstream, it's an integral part of the Hip-Hop code, and it's still in fashion.
In Hip Hop and in the Rap game
JVC
12 May 2004
Because of their old school gear JVC remains one of the biggest Lovemarks in Hip Hop and in the Rap game. I remember groups like the legendary JVC Force, or LL Cool J's 1985 debut album, 'Can't live without my radio'. The cover features LL with an old school JVC Boomblaster. Yeah, there's also that difference in Sound: JVC built the best Boom-boxes ever. They invented the RV B99, which had real fresh expressive design features and a fantastic sound which holds a solid bass end. I've got a JVC car stereo which I bought back in 1998 and its never given me the slightest problem.
A true influence
Braun
17 June 2004
Just one word. The claim of Braun is: designed to make a difference. Since the 50s til now: true! I was influenced by the clean design and the simple structure of Braun designs since I saw my dad's shave machine.
Playin' and feelin' the music...
Sven Vaeth
27 October 2004
Before today's DJ stars, there weren't real kings in turntablism and in the movin' the crowd biz'. Only Grandmaster Flash as one of the inventors got the props of the masses. To use the turntable like a musical instrument was the hype. Sven Vaeth took it much further, developing his own style of playin' and feelin' the music, and was one of the first real Techno DJ stars on our planet.
