      WAKA Kickball

      16 October 2003

After graduating from college I found myself thrown into a world with limited social activities. Sure I could always go to a bar or club, but meeting like-minded, fun people turned out to be much harder than expected. There was a social interactivity and commonality in college that was missing in “the real world.” And then I found WAKA Kickball – it single-handedly saved my social life. WAKA is truly the answer to my prayers - I could not have asked for a better organization and fun people. We play kickball, socialize after the games, and even throw events together. WAKA players are the nicest bunch of people I’ve found which is why I've been with it for 4 years now! Next year I'll have been playing longer than I was enrolled in college. WAKA’s definitely my Lovemark!

      Olympic Games

      20 April 2004

The Olympics are passé. The use and abuse of performance-enhancing drugs by most if not all "athletes" that compete, in addition to the acceptance of professional athletes in the games has, I think, undermined everything the Olympics stands for (or rather, used to stand for). Of course, stories of fighting ice skaters and Jamaican bobsledders has also served to lower the Olympics to a cheap tabloid experience. The entire event becomes more a sideshow than anything deserving world class status. It is a shame.

      Cottonwood School

      03 June 2004

My experience with Cottonwood School and the people who make it all come together has been nothing but great. It is difficult to find a more dedicated and caring group of peope anywhere. I wish I had the opportunity to attend this school when I was growing up.
