Treasured Passages offers products called Letter Books, which are in four themes: sisters, friends, couples, and mother/daughter. It is a wonderful keepsake that is in the form of a "scrapbook," with specific themes and tasks. It offers envelopes and cards to fill out, mail, and return to the person that you are doing your letter book with. The goal is to "fill mailboxes, not in-boxes." The company started with two friends, one who lost her mother to cancer, and then was diagnosed with cancer herself. She and her best friend came to the realization that relationships are the most important things in life. Letter books are a way to capture pictures, favorites, firsts, etc...wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. I am making a letter book with my mom, whose failing health makes me horribly afraid that she wont be able see my kids (her grandchildren) be born, take their first step, go off to kindergarten, etc. The idea of a letter book is to capture the things that are most important to you-your relationships with others, and document them in a fun, interactive way.
