• More aesthetics, less drab

  What is not to love. I plan and manage computer classes for continuing education at Rhode Island School of Design. Yesterday I walked into a mac lab to see a pc on one table that was installed for some testing. It looked so awful among all the sleek, grey macs and their large flat-panel monitors. The mac labs I manage outnumber the pc labs more than 2 to 1. Campus-wide it's probably more like 20 to 1. I don't really subscribe to the mac vs. pc argument. A computer is a computer is a computer in most ways. But the innovations coming out of Apple have delivered design aesthetics that are a pleasure to see and interface conventions that make more conventional options seem rather drab both in their visual appeal and interaction conventions.

  Yuengling lager is my absolute favourite - a most delightful beer, always super cool and refreshing. Not at all well known outside of Pennsylvania, which I really wish could single-handedly change, but I have a feeling this isolation won't last for long.
