  Shigeru Ban is one of the world's most innovative architects, the first architect that proves that paper can be just as strong as concrete and steel to be used as a structure. His best work for paper architecture is probably the Japan pavilion at the Hanover fair. His work is always challenging the convention. Latest work includes the swatch building in Ginza Japan, where individual glass lifts take you to each showroom. The Pompidou at Metz has an amazing roof structure inspired by Japanese bamboo craftsman hat construction.
