    • I love showing people this place

      Ping Pong

      16 June 2007

Ping Pong is a dim sum restaurant chain in London. Not only is the food amazing (and amazingly designed) but the entire experience is fully customer focused with a strong element of design and personality. You remember it the first time you go and it gets better every time. I love showing people this place.

    • They connect with me like no other

      95bFM

      16 June 2007

bFM is an alternative radio station based in Auckland, New Zealand but it can be heard around the world. For me, it epitomizes the essence of the punk rock, free-wheeling, anti-corporate spirit of freeform radio. The DJ’s really, really love their music and bFM is one of the few stations to really tell you about new music, rather than just play a CD. It’s logo is something that really works visually as well. As a radio station and as a brand, they connect with me like no other radio brand has ever done.

    • Stopped me dead in my tracks

      Smart car

      16 June 2007

I remember first seeing these in person at an auto show around ’99 or so. It stopped me dead in my tracks. The Smart Car is one of those products that just gets it - it’s quirky, beautifully designed and serves a brilliant purpose. An excellent marriage of form and functionality with a personality all its own. Anyone driving around San Francisco, London or Wellington will easily appreciate one of these!

    • One of the most trusted brands

      Warp Records

      16 June 2007

In a world where the mp3 has completely destroyed the sense of "album" or label, Warp still stand alone. Admittedly, they aren’t as strong as they were but they were (and for the most part) still are a record label where you’ll simply buy the next release based on the strength of the name alone. It’s one of the most trusted brands I’ve ever come across. Just say the words "Warp Records" to any music fan and I guarantee you an emotional reaction of some sort. Lovemarks don’t come more loved up than this!

    • A genuine vibe

      Flat White

      27 June 2007

Flat White is an Antipodean coffee-house in London. At first, you might think - what’s the big deal? But for ex-pats, it’s got a genuine vibe of a trad coffee house from Auckland or Sydney, plus all the stuff from down under - Pavement Magazine, L&P, etc. - and a unique creative laid back vibe. Did we mention how amazing the coffee is?

    • The genius lies in the product itself

      MOO

      27 June 2007

A new entry here. The idea started out pretty simply - stop using boring business cards and start using your Flickr photos instead. The next thing you know - you can do Bebo, Second Life, Habbo and more. The genius lies in the product itself - they are thinner and longer than the usual business card and immediately attract attention to themselves. A brilliant idea that capturing a lot of people very quickly.
