    • My 'local'

      Babington House

      18 March 2007

A cool and chic hotel and members club in the heart of rural Somerset. Part of the Soho House brand and perhaps the most unique of all. Great atmosphere generated by the mix of guests and members who regularly hang out in the timesless bar. Fabulous staff who genuinely seem to enjoy your company. Complete with spa and sports facilities, I am lucky that Babington is my ’local’.

    • The electro sound of the city

      Ladytron

      18 March 2007

The electro sound of the city. Ladytron are to die for. Layers of lush synths and classy female vocals create dreamy soundscapes that verge on pure pop. Music so contemporary and streamlined; so clean - even sanitised. The darlings of electro-clash Ladytron have the world at their feet.

    • My favourite London location

      Cannon Bridge Roof Garden

      25 July 2007

Cannon Bridge Roof Garden is a genuinely unique, inspiring and relaxing space situated 30 metres above ground level in the heart of the city. Picture the scene: it is the start of summer and London is sweltering in blissful sunshine. At street level, the heat is oppressive and a million workers sweat their way through the city desperate to go home, to the pub or to the park...I am sat in an English country garden sipping chilled champagne being serve delicious canapes by attentive waiters obliging my every whim. The difference is, this country garden is high in the sky with breathtaking views down the Thames with the Southbank and St. Paul’s cathedral in the background. The cloudless azure sky and the gentle breeze seduce the senses dissolving any thoughts of the chaotic city below. The company is stimulating and the ambiance and atmosphere fuse to create a perfect party atmosphere. The long sunny afternoon drifts into early evening and the lights of London begin to sparkle like stars. The city is so much more beautiful at night especially from such a spectacular viewpoint. The drinks flow freely and all the guests are mingling, making introductions, getting to know each other. Breaking barriers and sharing the truly wonderful Cannon Bridge Roof Garden experience. And this is what it is about. A magical place where people unwind, let their spirits fly, find their true selves, make friends and do business. A place to talk, laugh or dance the night away free from restraint or convention. Cannon Bridge Roof Garden has much in common with my first Lovemark - Babington House - but, this is the city, metropolitan version. This place is my favourite London location and I can’t wait to return.
