  • A whole new world

Experiencing webtv/msntv was the Introduction to a whole new world for me, because it was only a set-top box - I had to explore workarounds - learnt html, lurked in newsgroups til I finally built my own computer. It was an Experience for $99 that was priceless!

  • A tax for your technology

Human beings have come a very long way in the past 40,000 years and technology is at the heart of it. However, not many of us actually contribute to this technological evolution. Most of us are simply spectators; lifetime tourists. Microsoft allows our really clever human brothers and sisters to install their ideas into the rest of our lives. Sure, in this corporate infested culture they also have to be a big rich company, so simply look at the cost of their offerings as a tax for your technology. I love Microsoft because they enhance a huge proportion of the human race.

  • Pity full

I pity all MS worshippers. This has to be one of the biggest companies and mistakes in the world today... I wish no one would have to work with it everyday (if you use a comfuser for work or play).

  • Anti-rave

Yes, you're right, Office is good by virtue of being dominant. Unfortunately, that's where many consider it ends. Microsoft's flagship product is still Windoze, and it's still awful. Heck, Microsoft won't even run it (Microsoft.com was running on Linux the entire summer of 2003 over security fears). Loving Micro$oft is like loving a colonoscopy. It's something you have to deal with, but nothing to rave about.

  • Passionate opposition

Hatemark may be more like it. Emperor Bill Gates and Microsoft -- or the "dark side of the force" as they're known -- are despised by millions of freethinking people who hate smug despotism. You've gotta love our passionate opposition.

  • The only thing that matters

After more than two decades of trying and discarding applications to find the best-of-breed for my purposes, more than half of the applications installed on my machine today are from Microsoft. So where most companies fail to provide more than one quality product, Microsoft provides me with more than twenty. This is a positively unmatched level of quality and reliability. Microsoft reliably and consistently produces high-quality software. And once you cut through all the political rhetoric, that's really the only thing that matters.

  • What a boring world it would be

Microsoft (Bill Gates' Company) is a company which produces extremely great computer software. Without Microsoft, computers have no meaning - nothing could be contained or retrieved and what a boring world it would be.
