Hooked
Nutella is part of my childhood. And a part of the present. I still buy it now, for me and my little son. I do not even think about buying something else. For me there´s no other around, as Nutella is the one and only. I once brought it to a friend living in the Caribbean and I just loved to watch how everybody got hooked on it.

With no mom restriction
I remember when I was younger and I would come home from school, hungry. Sometimes on my kitchen table I would find my favorite snack: 2 slices of Toast, 1 jar of Nutella and a glass of milk. It was the best and it still is 20 years later. My friends used to also have it in their kitchen pantries, moms always tried to keep it away from us because once we started it was very hard to stay away from that great tasting chocolate spread. The best part of it was how easy it was to eat, it could be on your finger, with a spoon, in your milk, on your ice cream, with your pancakes, I could go on for ever.. I still have it nowadays with no mom restriction and I think it will be something that my kids will also love.

Nutella worked
My favorite uncle, the impossibly handsome, intelligent, cosmopolitan and multi-lingual Jimmy, used to bring me a jar of Nutella from France each time he visited home. Not only do I adore it's glorious chocolatey goodness, silk-velvet texture and that accessible-as-peanut-butter-but-way-cooler image, but it's like having my favorite uncle with me again, hearing him call me Megoo and admonish me to study French. Nutella was his way of making sure I stayed curious about the world beyond my small Ohio town. It worked.

An old flame
It was love at first bite! I still remember being introduced to Nutella, back in 1970. I was living in Austria, far from my home and family. Nutella was one of the things that helped me survive culture shock and homesickness. When I discovered a new source, some 15 years later, I was living in Indiana and so happy to see an old flame! I confess that I have never eaten Nutella any way except straight from the jar, or as a topping for ice cream. I make resolutions to use one of the Nutella recipes that I have collected, but it never survives long enough. Nutella makes me so happy.

Nutella's sensuous flavour
I have to confess that I've never spread Nutella on anything. I ladle it into my mouth with table and serving spoons. What a rush!! I can still remember the first time I scooped its intoxicating, fragrant, goodness onto my willing tongue. Its sensuous flavour exploded in my brain like fireworks!! Why would anyone want to dilute it with bread?

Instant reminder
Every time I move to a new location, I have to locate the nearest source of Nutella. Its easier now than it was 20 years ago (yes, they made it in 1983). It was my favorite sandwich spread as a teenage Army brat in Germany, and now it's a comfort food and instant reminder of innocent, happy times.

The taste of a happy childhood
Nutella is the taste of a happy childhood. It is the taste of your mother's goodbye kiss when you are out for 3rd grade. It is taste of times when you have no worries or responsibilities. It is the unforgettable taste of your own childhood, lost years ago...

One jar a week
I used to hate Nutella but one day I got a craving and now it's my new addiction! It's chocolate that you can get away with eating for breakfast, lunch or tea. It takes about 1 minute to spread it on some bread so it is great for lazy people like me. Sometimes it comes in glasses with superheroes of cartoon characters on instead of normal jars. I eat about 8 slices of bread with Nutella everyday, sometimes more. From detesting its hazelnut undertones I can't see myself never buying my weekly jar again!
