  • An emotional connection to the Oreo

I have an emotional connection to the Oreo cookie brand because they tend to show families in their commercials. By using children being instructed by their elders on how to eat an Oreo cookie properly, they allow the audience to feel a special connection with the brand through their own families regardless of how the cookies taste.

  • The best!

I just looooooove Oreo Golden Original. I can not buy a pack and eat just one or two, I eat them all! I have eaten a great variety of cookies, only to get this conclusion: My Oreos Vanilla (Golden) are the best!

  • Self-proclaimed namesake

Due to woeful pronunciation on my part as a baby, I have been known as "Oreo" to my family for more than 30 years. Considering that they loved offering me my self-proclaimed namesake at every opportunity, I didn't spend any time correcting anyone. For years, I associated the O-R-E-O song with lullabys! Comfort food to this day, you can tell who has known me longest by whether I answer to "Oreo". (On a side note, I also thought that the witch's army in Wizard of Oz was singing "Or-O, Or-E-O" til I was 10. It made the movie especially terrifying!)

  • Deeply odd

Yuck, no thank you. I was amazed and disgusted when I got to America to discover that the biscuit held up in all those Judy Blume books as the ultimate comfort food was so unpleasant. The biscuits are blackened and taste burnt. There's nothing chocolatey about them. And crumbled over ice cream, it spoils the taste of the ice cream. Really deeply odd flavour and texture.

  • Keeping milk company

You gotta be something special to be partners with other Lovemarks such as Ben & Jerry's and Haagen Dazs and be able to keep the most wholesome of all lovemarks - milk - from getting lonely. C'mon! To milk, Oreos are like Barry White and Marilyn Monroe sandwiched together. That's a luuuvvvmark.

  • The forbidden fruit!

For some reason Oreos were banned in my house in favor of Vienna Fingers. They were truly the forbidden fruit! And kudos to the Oreo folks for getting rid of the trans fats!

  • Beloved

Oreos are part of our cultural heritage. How you choose to eat them reflects your mood or outlook. And they're so diverse, Oreos are beloved by every age group and translate well to other food categories (ice cream, cupcakes, etc.). I actually have a relationship with Oreos.

  • Culinary love of my life

Uh! Oh! Oreo! Culinary love of my life. Tough and crispy on the outside, but sweet and soft on the inside. Thanks Mr and Mrs Nabisco.

  • The ultimate comfort food

The ultimate comfort food for me! A tall glass of cold milk and Oreos to dunk - what more do you need to bring back childhood memories?

  • Taste like cardboard

These are the cookies that taste like cardboard and not very high quality cardboard at that. What is the sweet white stuff in the middle? Nothing made on planet earth, that's for sure. Some sort of intergalactic plasma by the taste of it. A Lovemark? I think not.
