It was love at first sight
My rendevous with Oilily takes the form of a blue-green building in my memory. Sitting among all those grey boring skyscrappers was this 3-storey shop with colorful children’s clothes. Fascinated, I begged my mom to bring me in. She didn’t buy me anything, but I took away a catalog. It was a special issue on post-Soviet Slovakia, with a rosey-cheeked girl holding a bunch of flowers on the cover. It was love at first sight. Ever since then, those whimsical and genuine catalogs became a constant source of inspiration: look around the world - beauty, innocence, and passion can truly be found anywhere.

People fight for our hand-me-downs
Oilily has become a staple in my childrens wardrobe. I used to feel I couldn't afford it. Now instead of spending $30 here and there on "throw away" clothes I just save up for a great Oilily piece. The best part no one else has clothes like my kids and the compliments are endless! P.S. people fight for our hand-me-downs.

My mum was way cooler than we thought...
When I was about 7 my mum bought me a great Oilily dress that was reversible and was bright pink on one side and multi colored check on the other. It also had a great big pocket in the front of the dress which I could stick my hands in. It was quite a statement! My mum was obviously way cooler than we ever gave her credit for.

Cashful thinking
Oilily makes wonderful, fanciful clothes. The only trouble is when they have a sale I still can't afford them! Still, it's where I would shop for my kids (and myself) if I had more cash.

Oilily just gets it
Suzy Gershon said it best when she described the apparel sold by Oilily as having "all the celebration a garment can take." Season after season Oilily's clothing is inspirational, artistic, and utterly fabulous. Boys, girls & women are all in for a treat - sorry men. As a clotheshorse-mom of one son, it's a challenge to find clothes for my little boy that sing to me, yet don't look too fussy on him. Oilily just gets it.
