I require a yearly fix
The Lake District, Cumbria, is the quintessence of Englishness. Home to Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth, Coleridge et al, it's steeped in mystique and romanticism. So beautiful that you can point a camera anywhere, click 12 times and have an instant calendar. And yet, you can guarantee that any holiday will be spent at least partially in the rain. Specimen trees, dramatic landscape, rhododendrons, ever-changing weather and more sheep than you can shake a stick at. I require a yearly fix.
