  • Forever bonded by our meeting

I found my family in San Francisco, my Uncle Clay. My father, Fred and his siblings were separated when he was 3 yrs old. After years of wondering if the other was still living and if so; where did they live, I found him in northern California. Separated for 63 years, we had a tearful and happy reunion in the San Francisco airport. Clay wore a red feather in his hat so we could find him. I would have known him without the feather. He has the same freckles and friendly smile as my father. We spent the day at Fisherman's Wharf just walking, talking and dining together. Now, as they enjoy the twilight years of their lives; they have a brother. Someone to golf with, a person to sound off with and better yet; a brother to give holiday cards too! I have a best friend for life, my cousin Margaret - Clay's daughter. My children have bonded with Margaret's kids and truly are soulmates. The 4th generation, my granddaughter is quickly finding the same love in her new family relationships. We are the Jewell family and we are forever bonded by our meeting in the fabulous city of San Francisco.

  • By far my favourite in the US

An absolutely gorgeous city and by far my favourite in the US. What's not to love about it? The architecture, Ghirardelli Square (and chocolate for that matter), the weather, and clam chowder in bread bowls. My plans are to move there within the next two years.

  • My favourite city ever

San Francisco has to be my favourite city ever, and I don't even like cities! The stalls at Fisherman's Wharf, the cute little cable cars where you can stand on the outside and they have to be turned round by people instead of machines right next to huge modern shops, the Bush Man (sits on the pavement behind a branch and jumps out at people!), Alcatraz, the shops in Chinatown, the steepness of the streets, the way it looks from Alcatraz, the bridges, the buskers, just everything about it is so memorable and special.

  • I would love to go and live there forever...

I love San Francisco! I visited 2 weeks ago for my spring break. Wonderful weather, and its very pretty. From the breath-taking mountains, to the amazing stroll under Golden Gate Bridge. To me it's the prettiest of all cities so far. The cable cars, the crookedest street, the alcatraz, all attract so many tourists each year. The houses are so pretty...but a little too expensive for by budget! It has a very unique style and people are very laid-back, but at the same time are very trendy. One thing I like about this place is that it does not have the super fast life pace like NYC, but it is also not too slow like Utah or Texas. I would love to go and live there forever!

  • Left my heart there, to be sure

I spent ten years in Boston and thought that it was the most wonderful city in the United States. Until I went to San Francisco. Left my heart there, to be sure. Art, great food, interesting people, wonderful weather if you love sweater weather (I do). It would be worth risking tumbling into the ocean with this fair city to spend my life there.

  • San Francisco has it all

San Francisco will always be in my heart. My husband and I visited San Francsico for our honeymoon. There are so many fond memories from our first trip there that I can't possibly recount them all here. Whether strolling in Golden Gate Park and visiting the California Academy of Sciences, or walking across the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco has it all. Chinatown, night tours of Alcatraz, and the City Lights bookstore are all places that will make you remember San Francisco forever.

  • A cut above...

I love San Francisco! It's what I considered my hometown for years. The politics are quirky; the people are genuine and organic. I think the city has a style that is unique and a cut above anything or anywhere else I've ever been to. Its a great City!

  • It's impossible to visit and not fall in love

From the "Summer of Love" in the 60's to the celebrations of peace and love today, San Francisco has always been a city for passion and passionate people. It's impossible to visit and not fall in love with the breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, the morning (and afternoon and evening) fog, the smells of garlic in North Beach, and the sound of the cable cars. Tony Bennett may have left his heart here, but every time I look out my window or step out my front door I realize that I have finally found mine.
