Browsing, reading and dreaming
Barnes & Noble is a haven. The thousands of books on the shelves are so full of promise. I remember my parents asking my sisters and me what we would like to do on a Sunday evening. We always ended up spending hours in Barnes & Noble, browsing, reading and dreaming together.

It is an emotional warmth
The very essence of the French Oak doors to the inside and the smell of leather, paper and new books warms my heart. The old English interior and the little Starbuck’s cafe just seem to silence it from the rest of the world. The soft armchairs tucked away in various corners and alcoves make quite the company. I can curl my feet beneath me and crack the pages of a fresh book, abandoning my body and releasing my spirit into the world that rises up from the black words. Barnes & Noble gives off an old English atmosphere. The shelves are thick, dark varnished wood. No shelves are ever left bare. No tables. The interior, the furnishings, the people and the complexity of the place is what radiates warmth. It is not a physical warmth, it is an emotional warmth.

I know that its more PC to prefer your corner bookstore - but Barnes & Noble is amazing to me! BandN.com is my real favorite - they deliver the same day in New York for free if you order 2 books - but who can order just one?

Have you ever...
My time at B&N is relaxing and private! It is not a library because of the "quiet" hussle and bussle of other B&N addicts. I always stop by the books recommended by the staff. Their descriptions of the book often intrique me enough to purchase the book. This must be my favorite place to purchase gifts! Gift cards, books, book markers, journals and CD's. Have you ever been in a store, loved the music on their sound system and wanted to know who the artist was so you could buy that CD? I have, and when I asked the store employees about the CD, THEY HAD NO CLUE who the artist was! That will not happen to you at B&N; you can head back to the music department and the CD playing is displayed for you to see. Love it!

Waiting for me
When I arrive, my favorite chair is waiting for me, and there are smiling people to help me find the books I need. Nobody bothers me, and when I'm ready, I can go have a latte. What's better than that?

My second home
I simply love it, it feels like my second home, the environment is warm, well decorated and calm. Books are my best friends, when I am there it feels like I'm attending a party with a bunch of good friends and each one of them has a lot to say and I am eager to listen to them all. A good book, nice comfy armchair and a cup of cappuccino what else could you wish for?
