  • We love our Green Bay Packers

The 2010 Green Bay Packers led by Aaron Rodgers continues to remain a Lovemark in my heart and those of us born, raised or living in Wisconsin. The Pack won Superbowl XLI and the team couldn't have deserved it more. I am "Feelin Fly Like a Cheesehead" and a mashup remix of the G6 song sings, and am proud to wear my Green and Yellow everywhere and anywhere in the world! To give you an idea of just how strong the bond is between Wisconsonites and the Green Bay Packers, let me tell a story. This past week a good friend and coworker died suddenly at our place of employment. He was known as "Mr. Packer." He lived, breathed and died a Packer fan. He was also called "Packer Dave." I went to his funeral this past week, and everyone at the funeral, hundred, almost one thousand people I would estimate, waited in line for hours just to sign his guest book, give condolences to his large family, and proudly wear their Green and Yellow Packer gear to the funeral. In fact the family requested it. Dave was cremated, so in the front of the chapel, there were all his Green Bay Packer jerseys, collectibles, etc., and some of his ashes were inside of a Vince Lombardi Green Bay Packers lunch box from back in the day! As a lifetime Green Bay Packer fan, I have worn my Packers gear all over the world, have watched games over Internet video streaming while in my house in Paraguay in South America, screaming for every touchdown! The Packers brought the Vince Lombardi trophy home to "Titletown" as Green Bay, Wisconsin is known, because the trophy, named in honor of our great coach Vince Lombardi, was first awarded after the Packers won the first Superbowl in 1967 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay (and the game is fondly called the "ice bowl" for it was played in -20 F temps!), and went on to defeat the Radiers in Superbowl II in 1968 at Lambeau. In fact, as I sit here, I am wearing my Superbowl II sweatshirt commemorating that game. And that is only because my Superbowl XLI shirt is in the wash! We love our Green Bay Packers and our great quarterback Aaran Rodgers, who was both Superbowl MVP in 2010 and winning quarterback!

  • True team spirit

Let's give Brett Farve a shout out for perpetuating the true team spirit of the Green Bay Packers of the past and showing all of us what it means to lead a team and never giving up. He is a true inspiration to everyone.

  • The institution is bigger than anyone running it.

The Green Bay Packers posess a passion that few professional teams attain in any sport. Ten years ago, Ron Wolf toyed with the idea of changing the mustard yellow helmets to a more "sophisticated" metallic gold. It couldn't get done. Even though the iconic uniforms had only been in use for half of the team's existence, there was no turning back. The institution is bigger than anyone running it. And to think it all started when Curly Lambeau, home sick from Notre Dame, approached Green Bay's Indian Packing Company about a company team in 1919. No other NFL team has as many championships.

  • Owns them and loves them

"Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another..." This quote from Vince Lombardi sums it all up. The Packers are special. The community of Green Bay owns them and loves them. And when the Packers love each other and the game they play more than any other team does, they win championships, set records and continue to be one of the most improbable success stories in all of sports. Just watch Brett Favre and his teammates on a cold, snowy game day in Lambeau. Look closely at their faces after a play. They love the game and each other. And love wins!

  • They hold true to their faith

Born and raised in Packer Land! My fondness for this team goes well beyond the weekly game or even the fact that I'm a Wisconsinite through and through, it's about HISTORY and LEGENDS! The Green Bay Packers embody everything an NFL team SHOULD be, winning or losing, they hold true to their faith and never lose sight of those that came before them. I'm proud of the team and its players, which is more than can be said about MANY teams in the NFL these days! Please make Lambeau Field one of your 'to do's', you'll be transported back to the days of Bart Starr and the Ice Bowl and remember what it means to be a football fan.

  • How cool is that?

The Packers are a Wisconsin institution. They are owned by the citizens of Green Bay and if the team is ever sold the proceeds go to an American Legion post. They reflect the personality of their owner - a small city in Wisconsin, rather than a fat cat or a corporation. How cool is that? In this era of corporate sports ownership and big market domination, it is great that a small town can hold its own and produce champions.

  • Toughing it out

Whether you love them or hate them as a team, this football brand goes back to the beginning of football, when men played the game without much protective gear - just leather helmets and jerseys - and they toughed it out on fields of sod and mud. Its most famous coach, Vince Lombardi, helped set the standard for what football is all about.
