20 years later the Batman returns
20 years ago I was in Paris for the last time. The city was crawling with the billboards launching the Batman as movie directed by Tim Burton. 20 years later the Batman returns to my life through two children!

A die-hard fan
Anticipating it's July release, I'm nominating the upcoming Batman film for more than one reasons. As a kid growing up I was (and maybe still am) a die-hard fan. Christian Bale did a fantastic job of reviving the character on the big screen after it was so terribly ruined by Val Kilmer and George Clooney; the late Heath Ledger looks absolutely incredible as the Joker. I live in Chicago and saw much of it being filmed, and finally there looks to be some spectacular production design from the wardrobe to the vehicles. What more should I say?

He survives bad writers and bad movies...
Batman endures. Every channel of communication you can think of has had Batman as content. In one form or another he has been seen or heard or read or downloaded. Batman never goes away. He survives bad writers and bad movies from directors who should have known better. He has survived one editor handing him off to another. He will never go away. No matter what the future holds for the rest of us.

The best super hero of them all
Undoubtedly the best super hero of them all. Purely human, which makes him one of the more realistic heroes. The dark and gritty world he inhabits is also truly fascinating, with a plethora of bad guys who you fear but respect at the same time, a lot like Batman except he doesn't cross that 'line'. But if you're going to commit a crime a nice fist in the face should put you off, and with this, Batman's restrained and justified violence really appeal to a lot of people. As long as they don't change what makes him what he is then Batman will be one of my greatest fictional characters of all time.

Gotham city, along with Metropolis is one of the most famous unexisting cities in the world. No airline or travel agency can take you there... only the power of your imagination and the pages of the Batman comic books. I love this city which reflects the decadence of New York and the gangster era of Chicago. And also where one great character lives: Batman.

Batman beats them all
Ask any comic book enthusiast, they'll tell you that Batman beats them all, even Superman!! Watch for a Batman resurgence after next year's Batman Begins feature film. No one's cooler than Batman when he's done right!

Fear is a good thing
Gets the job done, without being as preppy as that *other* guy with the "S" on his chest. Besides, instilling a little fear into the hearts of evil people is a good thing.
