  • Good times

Like someone said, they started it all. It made my childhood, and it made me fall in love with games. I played so many times those ahead of the time games, like River Raid, Enduro and so many others. Good times.

  • Atari started it all

Atari started it all. I think it was far too innovative for its time, too bad the company strangled (if I'm not mistaken) to evolution and new technologies.

  • Still givin' fun

The Atari XL/XE - the first really good personal computer. Unbeatable for a long time. My first one. Still beloved one. Still alive. Still working. Still givin' fun. A great reason to meet another Atari fans - my great friends.

  • I wish I kept my Atari

Atari was my first gaming system, maybe that describes just how old I may be but it was great! I wish they still sold that simple system. The controllers were so simple to use and so much fun. I wish I kept mine!

  • It almost makes me want to buy one on ebay

Nothing is more radical then the old school Atari symbol. Like totally tubular radical donkey kong. Yeah, Atari rocks, it almost makes me wanna buy one on eBay.

  • Before it was cool

Atari reminds me of when I was a kid really. It also reminds me of a kind of atmosphere... kind of like hackers and geeks, but before it was all "cool". I think Atari was the best after the company died - that made the whole Atari movement organic, not just the product of some marketing crap. But hey, even when Atari WAS going, their marketing was notoriously lacking. They were based solely on ideas, and cool stuff before it was cool, if that makes sense...

  • Only a logo to most people.

Atari was big in games, then later in computers, now only a logo to most people, but not to me. Atari led the best technology of computers from the 70`s, when computer game technology was emerging. It has now briefly resurfaced, but unfortunately only on T-shirts.

  • This is a brand I grew up with

It struck me that nobody had nominated Atari yet? I was born in the 70s and this is a brand I grew up with. To me Atari represents fun, imagination, warmth, technology, sharing with friends and endless options in games. I love that the objectives of the games were so varied. Something you don't often see in today´s video games are the simple goals. Collecting things, fighting, building cities or all of the above. What about digging for Tutankhamen´s tomb, or preparing a giant hamburger while avoiding pickles and tomatoes that chase you ? I was nurtured by my Atari, it stimulated my imagination as a child. It made me discover that there can be more to everything you see, such as an underlying story, fantasy or challenge. And I still believe that, most of the time, there is.
