The St George’s Cross (or Cross of St George) is a red cross on a white background. It is used as the national flag of England.

Feeling good about being English
The flag unites the country (England) when it's World Cup time. Simple and effective, it's easy to recreate - a strip of red tape on a white van is discreet but at the same time distinct. It brings a smile and sense of pride when the first flags start being flown from balconies and windows; it's nice to see people making the effort to support our boys and feeling good about being English for once (not a trendy view, I know!). The flag looks great in all formats, too - even on cufflinks. Proof of an excellent design.
