People who are nominated and hold the title of Oracle ACE are evangelists for the product but also independent and not paid marketers. Most answer questions on technical forums and blog about their use of the products. The wider user community trusts this independance and is more liker to ask an ACE than someone in Oracle about the products. The unrivaled access they then get with Oracle adds to their knowledge and credability.
