I would recommend it to anyone
This university meets the Lovemark criteria of love, respect, and loyalty beyond reason. MUW is a unique institution and I would recommend it to anyone, male or female, who is looking for an excellent college education and experience.

Strong connections
There is something very special about Mississippi University for Women, "The W". The strong connection its graduates feel to it may not be that unusual, but the strong connections between widely disparate generations of them may be unique to it. The Class of '59, the Class of '91 and the Class of '08 link as strongly as same or adjacent years.

Keeps us current and relevant
Mississippi University for Women, "The W," was the first public college for women in America, but was founded for a vocational as well as an academic purpose. It was determined to teach women to think as well as to support themselves, and it still promotes that mission today. I am an MUW graduate, and I can find a bond in common with any other "W girl," no matter whether she graduated in 1930 or in 2011 - we still leave our distinctive mark. Thank God for the democratic and feminist principles which established our university, and for the unique mission which keeps us current and relevant.

Shaped me into a confident woman
I was the Columbus native that swore I would never, ever attend the W. Never say never. Attending the W was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Small classes. Professors that care about your education. Lifelong friends. I'm grateful for everything MUW taught me in the four years I attended. The W helped shaped me into the confident woman I am today.

I love The W
I graduated from The W (Mississippi University for Women) in 1982. My 30th reunion is coming up in April, and I am so excited! I moved from Mississippi when I graduated, but there were always a couple of "W girls" with whom I kept in touch. With the advent of Facebook, I'm in contact with a lot of my friends and social club sisters. We built bonds that have withstood time; the traditions, the teachers, the clubs, the songs... so many things bind us together as "Friends". I love The W and the rich heritage that she continues to infuse into the lifeblood of all who call themselves "W girls".

No other school like The W
Mississippi University for Women is a special and unique place, not only because of its continuing mission that focuses on women's education but of how alumnae/i are extremely dedicated to The W and to each other. You can't show me any other school on this planet - football team or not - that has the level of love and loyalty from its alumnae/i that The W has. I was an unsure college transfer when I stepped onto The W's campus in 1990. I had little belief in myself and what I could do. Over the years, and largely because of MUW, I have grown to a level of confidence that I never imagined I'd have. I have done things that I would never have woven into the tapestry of my wildest dreams twenty years ago. I made - and continue to make - the dearest, most supportive, and most loyal friends I will ever have in my life. All because of The W. There is no other school like The W, and I look forward to the day 13 years from now that I will get to take my daughter to her first semester at The W.

Unmatched
Mississippi University for Women left a mark on my heart before I even knew it existed. My grandmother graduated from "MSCW" (Mississippi State College for Women). My mother began her college career at MUW. I followed suit by graduating from MUW in 1995. The self-awareness I developed there has been unmatched by any other time in my life. I attribute my strengths a result of my 4 years there. I am the person I am today, because I am a "W" girl. I lood forward to my daughters having that same opportunity to be "W" girls, too.

The greatest gift
My four years at the "W" were wonderful and have had an impact on my life ever since. Perhaps the greatest gift that I received was the friendships - those that have continued for over forty years and those that have been made since with alumnae who were there before and after me.
