  • Beautiful, friendly and accommodating

I love the Westin in Downtown Providence. It's beautiful and the staff are very friendly and accomodating. I thought it was wonderful that there was a physical connection between the hotel and the huge downtown mall, too. It made it easy to get around on a cold New England Day.

  • Hotel heaven

The Westin Lombard Yorktown Center has become a Lovemark for our AmeriCorps*VISTA Leader training team. After 25 years plus of hotel seminar venues, we have finally found hotel heaven. Our events are as smooth as warm butter. The physical "spa" atmosphere is only the beginning. We are on a first name basis with virtually every staff member who serves us, from Patti the frontline meetings overseer to Ron the Director of Convention services. We know Gladdess, one of our meal servers, and Rick and Jeff the Bell Station guys. In addition to the incredibly delicious, varied buffets prepared for breakfast, lunch and dinner, anyone staying with the Westin enjoys hot chocolate and cookies in the lobby every afternoon. On some evenings in the lobby, guests are treated to a glass of wine and the presence of an artist creating original paintings before their eyes. I didn't know whether to categorize this Lovemark as People or Place. We are a small, somewhat inconsequential group in terms of hotel convention business, but you would never know it. We leave feeling better than when we checked in. It struck me last week as our server insisted on doing me a special favor that was serously beyond the call of duty - this is what it must feel like be treated as a member of a beloved royal family.
