How can you do better branding than with a name like that? When Jello Biafra hit the scene punk rock was all fashion and no politics. Jello's run for mayor of San Francisco (coming in fourth and forcing a runoff between Dianne Feinstein and the 2nd place candidate) warmed a whole generation of young rebel's hearts, including mine. The records he released created a brand around rebellion, quality, and intelligence, and formed one of the most visually distinctive record labels of the 80's.
