Sweet of my childhood

Milchschnitte was THE sweet of my childhood, especially because you couldn’t get them in my country at that time. My sister and I got them whenever our aunt from Germany came for a visit. She always brought just 5 Milchschnittas and said we should share it, which we did in a very sisterly way – took out the ruler and halved the 5th Milchschnitte to the millimeter accurately. We loved it then and we both love it now! Now that we live countries apart, whenever my sister comes for a visit, first she goes to my fridge and brings me half of the Milchschnitte. This will always remind out us of our beloved aunt, even though my husband cannot understand why do we have to share one, when there’s a fridge full of them! Don’t get me wrong, we don’t stop at sharing only one per evening!
