The factory of dreams
La fabbrica dei sogni - e vero!! (The factory of dreams - and it’s true) I love you Alessi and giving you a big Lovemark, especially for all those "monsters and ridiculous animals". Thank you for them.

The death of design
Alessi, the death of design. Alessi used to be a fantastic company, with cutting-edge design and second-to-none technological know-how that made them produce some milestones of modern design. But that was until the mid '80s, when they started making all those ghastly monsters and ridiculous animals that appeal to the most infantile side of their customers. Commercially successful, yet they failed their fantastic historical heritage. And they are now going through a major identity crisis as they have no idea where to go from there. Sad, sad, sad.

Passionate about Alessi!
Yes I'm passionate about Alessi! Their designs make my heart pound and I always get the giggles. If ever my spirits need lifting I just get my little book called ‘The Dream Factory: Alessi Since 1921'. It never fails! My most favourite purchase is the Juicy Salif. So 'War of the Worlds', it looks so out of it in the kitchen. I also feel that the Alessi designers/family give me inspiration to keep the sense of fun I like to portray in my art work.

Like looking around a modern art gallery
I love Alessi products! The butter dish that looks like a ship, the happy smiley corkscrews. Looking round an Alessi shop is like looking around a modern art gallery and I always find myself coming out with a smile on my face at the latest quirky designs.

A passion of mine
Alessi has been a passion of mine since I first saw the squirrel nut cracker in a local store. I bought it with my first pay cheque - well, my first pay cheque as a non-student. My collection has grown to include many pieces, and every time I visit Italy, I bring back more. My poor husband, though; he always complains that I won't let him use any of them.

A little piece of art
Once you see, once you buy an Alessi object, then you realise what design is about. You never see again everyday things as you used to. The kettles, can openers, trays, bowls were redefined by Alessi, and make you feel that you are using and owning a little piece of art.

Hundreds of wonderful things
How can Alessi not be here - so many hundreds of wonderful things. From Philippe Starck's Juicy Salif that looks like some sort of alien landing - to the wonderful cutlery in my drawer or a cute brightly coloured bottle opener. Alessi is beautiful design that makes life that little bit happier every day!
