People blowing up trying to walk across their land = Not good. Removing the bombs from the ground and replacing them with nourishing agriculture that support life = good. Roots of Peace = AMAZING.

Passion for change
Roots of Peace is a non-profit organization that replaces land mines with sustainable crops. It all started ten years ago when a small group of people based out of California wanted to change the world by the means they had available - knowledge if vineyards and passion for change. Over the past 10 years they have done so much positive work that I cannot fill this little box with all of the things they have done. The website isn't fancy, as they are a non-profit organization, but the heart and soul and change that they are making is amazing and it makes my heart swell with the knowledge that with a bit of passion people can create change and look beyond the political landscape and notice that landmines are killing people still and the 'war' is still raging long after the politicians have toasted to their success.
