Nicolas Sarkozy will be instated as the President of the French Republic on 16 May 2007. Prior to this, he served as the Minister of the Interior of France.

He offered hope
Love him or hate him, France has a new president: Nicolas Sarkozy. I’m not afraid to say he casted my vote. From all candidates, he was the only one that offered hope that what needs to happen will happen. And nobody as of today can deny that France can do with a bit of reform. More importantly (and amusingly), I think it’d be interesting to see how M. Sarkozy will fare as the trademark over his 5 year mandate.
