  • It has followed me around the world

I grew up in Baltimore, and one of the best memories was going down to the harbor with my aunt and feasting on steamed blue crabs. Old Bay has since followed me around the world, and I use it liberally on lots of dishes (often on Bloody Marys!) to evoke those memories.

  • Old Bay positive

Old Bay is iconic in the Mid-Atlantic area of the United States, especially in Baltimore. My mother swore she ate so many steamed crabs when she was pregnant with me that my blood type would be "Old Bay positive." I put it on a lot of foods other than just crabs and shrimp...fries, corn, baked potatoes, fish, burgers, chicken. The can design has been the same my whole life and I hope it never changes. I have so many memories of everyone gathered around a table, picking crabs, drinking beer, talking and laughing. A big can of Old Bay was always there on the table. Without it, it just wouldn’t be the same.
