  • Alas today they are increasingly hard to find

These are my earliest fond food memories. Eating for me as a child was more of a chore than pleasure. These were different they were good. I would search the packet for the ones covered in the most flavour. I would eat them with my parents when we watched TV or went to the drive inn. In the 70s the packet (box) had a picture of a BBQ on it. The steak pictured in it had that big thick side of fat that steak once had (before we became health nuts). Alas, today they are increasingly hard to find. Sad, as I was starting to create new memories watching DVDs with my nephews eating them. Now their packets are nondescript and gone from my local Coles. I weep when I see some of the terrible brands of chips whose flavours seem to be thought up by a demented commities. Perhaps they think that "Duck & Soy" is more adult. I don’t want to be an adult when I eat chips. I want the same flavour, taste, smell, look I have been eating for nearly 40 years.
