  • Plymouth has heritage

A real artisan product. So many alchohol brands have been snapped up by the majors - and Gin in particular seems to have suffered with many companies diluting the strength - presumably to add profit. Plymouth on the other hand has heritage (it is often mentioned as the gin used for the first Martini - and is said to be the authentic choice) but it's particularly important to me as a banner for the South West of England. It is still made in the oldest working Distillery, in the building where the Pilgrim fathers bedded down before they set off for the States. More recently has gone from strength to strength - literally in fact, as it is the only Gin available at its correct strength of 42.5%. So not surprisingly, it is back in the hands of the Martini makers around the world.
