The epitome of a modern, responsive charity
To me, the epitome of a modern, responsive charity. It is a pioneer (for example, setting up the UK's first charity shop over 50 years ago with a concept that was, then, revolutionary). Continuing to innovate - for example, their fair trade coffee shop, Progresso, the Oxfam Unwrapped catalogue (selling goats, chickens etc), as well as running eBay auctions and allowing people to download music and donate Oxfam at the same time. They understand people's changing living patterns and are able to respond to that. They are open to new ideas and have senior management who are experts in their field yet still listen to other people, and remain open to learning from other sources.
