  • I can still smell the scent of malt vinegar

Ivar's is more than just the quintessential Seattle landmark it is often defined as, it represents my childhood in one deliciously comforting locally-owned restaurant chain. My memories are wrapped up in trips to this cozy place where I could always be guarenteed perfectly crisp fish and chips accompanied by the ultimate tangy tarter sauce. Many a family meal was shared around those old wood slab tables, looking out on Puget Sound and the weathered seagulls who would find treasure in a randomly tossed french fry on the pier. When I look back, I can still smell the scent of malt vinegar in the air.
