A tender and blunt look at life
SFU takes a tender and blunt look at life by looking through the lens of death, when people are at their most vulnerable. The Fisher family is filled with complex and flawed characters who manage to frustrate and delight - you know, like real people. Writing and acting on an extraordinary level about ordinary lives. I love this show!

Sharp, gritty, real
I love this show with its dry wit and sarcasm, unusual turn of events and very believable characters. This is not your typical American TV show that offends no one and leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling in your stomach. No, Six Feet Under is sharp, gritty, real and ever-entertaining.

Wish it was on more often
This is a great program, the actors are phenomenal. Each episode starts out with a death and proceeds to let you into this family's "everyday" lives. The father has passed over now and is brought into most of the shows as a "dream" -"shadow"- with advice and comments about all of the events at hand. My fav family member is Claire the 19 year old daughter. She is an artist and friend to every underdog in the crowd. This is a must-see program. I wish it was on more often, the breaks in between seasons are very long.

In a world of eternally packaged youth, Six Feet Under tackles the touchy subject of Death head on. Every episode begins with a random death and revives the ancient tradition of 'memento mori' when we witness the death of someone who can be me. The characters live in Death(a funeral home) but reach out towards Life in a 'memento vita'. This remarkable TV series vicariously teaches us that Death and Life are both friends in shaping our lives with ultimate meaning!
