The Rurals

I'd never heard anything like it

The first time I heard The Rurals was in college, hanging out in a friend's room. We started talking about electronic music and I went on and on about how I hate house, techno, etc, etc. Then, I commented on the gorgeous music playing in the background. My friend, feeling so smug, was quick to tell me I was listing to HOUSE, deep House to be exact, from The Rurals. I'd never heard anything like it - beautiful female voice, jazz, electronic sounds all mixed together. They may draw inspiration from the countryside, but their music is nothing short of sleek and sophisticated, chill music.
