Takes me back to my youth
This song would take me back to my youth and a time when things were easy, when we could leave our doors wide open on summer nights for the breeze to cool the house, when kids loved their parents and didn't see them as standing in the way of their expression of individualism. It warms my heart and makes me long for the days when I was still in the care of people I had no doubt in trusting. This song makes me cry for how life changes a kid into a grown up, can't we all remain kids forever?

I miss his style of music
I love John Denver and especially miss his style of music - it was so down to earth. He always made the season of Christmas wonderful at our house as his records (alright I dated myself) were always playing while decorating the Christmas tree.

I never told him how much I loved him
I had a dear friend back in Venezuela when I was about 13 y.o. called Richard Klein who shared Kenny Rogers with me, and I did the same with JD. When we grew up, we took very different ways. He became an airplane pilot, died piloting about same year JD did, and I never told him how much I loved him. Miss you Richy.

I realized the other day, when my 7 year old was singing along to JD music, how my values had been framed by JD's music from when I began listening as a youngster. How I miss the soul of the songwriter, in a world of bubblegum pop.

Reminding me of my home
I’m very glad, writing comments on this board for two musicians, who reminding me of my home. My mum is a big fan of John Denver so I grew up with that music. If I ever I hear his songs on the radio, I pull bottom for louder, close my eyes and I’m simply feeling back home. And if ever I go home and visit my mum, I love to share moments with her, listening to the wonderful lyrics and voices of this musicians.

A deeper significance
Years ago I married a farmer and move from a city to the country. Whatever shall I listen, then to country music. The lyrics of the songs from John Denver - him I adore still for years ago - got a deeper significance to me. So, if I work on our farm, I enjoy to listen John Denver's music and feel a bit of that, what he wants to tell and teach us.

John Denver's music has had a major impact on my life. When dealing with personal tragedy his music and his message of love and nature feeling has helped to give me a sense of personal strength and a renewed hope for humanity. Although John was only with us for a short time he continues to impact people's lives in a positive way with his message. His music makes me feel free and close to nature again.
