Relaxed euphoria of coming home
You know that relaxed euphoria of coming home after a long day and just dropping onto the couch, putting your feet up, and having yourself a nice cold beer? That's how I feel whenever I open the door to Room. I've had the pleasure of calling it my second home for six years now and am sad I will be leaving Madison soon and will have to find my way without it. I've known Room as a customer, employee, and sometimes volunteer. I can't say enough good things about the store, the staff, or the BOOKS! Did I mention the BOOKS, as they've got quite a few for you to poke around in. Oh, so sad to say good bye to one of my top ten places to go when I don't know what else to do with myself.

Always a pleasure to spend a few hours shopping
This bookstore is awsome! It is one of the oldest and sadly dwindling population of feminist bookstores. They are dedicated to being fiercely independent - whether that means protecting reader's privacy, competing with the box stores or carrying an eclectic array of merchandise. It is always a pleasure to spend a few hours shopping.

A safe haven
One of very few remaining feminist bookstores in the country, 'A Room of One's Own' offers a safe haven for those of us who often feel marginalized by mainstream society and corporate propaganda. They offer a wide variety of political, cultural, and lgbt books so that one may educate themselves in a positive manner. They also work hard to bring in literature written by and about minority groups - a voice which is too often silenced. And if that is not enough, they have got the best bumpersticker selection in Wisconsin! Check them out, and you'll love it too!
