A humanitarian?
Can you really describe someone who opposes equal rights for LGBT people as a humanitarian? I don’t think so. It would be great if he spent time speaking out against global poverty and less time trying to deny the social, economic and legal benefits of marriage to same-sex couples and their families.

An icon
I voted Bishop TD Jakes as America's Best Preacher way before Time magazine even thought of it. His respect for his audience is immense. I love him for the depths and heights he goes to communicate. Read any of his books, listen to his music, his sermons, watch his movie... and you'd wonder how one man could be all of these so eloquently. I know he's an icon to all black people the world over. His life is a testament to the truth that religion, race or circumstances are not excuses for failure and mediocrity.
