Iron Maiden is an English heavy metal band formed in 1975 by Steve Harris. It is one of the most successful and influential bands in its genre.

I was blown away...

My mum made my brother take me to the Iron Maiden concert at the Palais Theatre in 1980. I was just in high school and I was blown away, the bands music was loud, raw and the emotion of the gig was electric. And then there is Eddie, what presence on the albums, videos and here in person bigger than the band. They saved me from a life of pop music and would safely shelter me from the musical embarrassments of the 80's. The band has changed members, Bruce went and came, the music and Eddie makes it last.

You wont find syrup or creme filled ballads...

This band is so much more then your average Heavy Metal Band - They are the true definition of the words. Never have they bent to commercial, trendy "metal". Taking their inspiration from old horror films to world history, you wont find syrup or creme filled ballads of that chick with the big hair and painted on jeans. They are what they are, the first and last word in enduring heavy metal. Up the Irons.

It now belongs to everyone

To me they are not just a band, they aren't just music, it's not about their well known graphical style, which features dark pictures with monsters. Just take a look anywhere in the world and you can still spot Iron Maiden T-shirts everywhere. It's more like a giant global dream, or something like that ? And it now belongs to everyone.
