Husker Du
Husker Du was an American alternative rock band formed in Minnesota in 1979. It consisted of Bob Mould, Greg Norton and Grant Hart, before disbanding in 1987.

An inspirational band
Husker Dü is a great example of an inspirational band. Without them, Green Day would be just another punk rock trio. 'Candy apple grey' is iconic and still very modern.

It clicked for me...
In my view they paved the way for all others - akin to the Beatles during the 60s, only HD was from the 80s. Punk yet melodic, angry, but insightful and way, way ahead of their time. I had to listen to them over and over agin before "it" clicked for me. There is depth and structure right below the sheer loudness of it all.
