  • Logans ruled in the Day

Logans ruled in the Day. I just got back into slalom racing after a 30 year break. Anyway, I am rebulding my sk8 quiver. I've rebuilt my Bonzai with Bennets and Oj's. I have a set of ACS 500's and RR4's to mount on a Logan Earth Ski.

  • Skating again after a 25 year break

I always wanted a Logan but could never afford one back in the 70s. Picked up a beautiful on on E-Bay about 2 years ago. It's a 27" Bruce Logan Model with Tracker Midtracks and Road Rider 4s. It sits on display in my office. Just bought a new Logan built by Gravity boards that I plan on riding. Started skating again about 3 years ago after a 25 year break. Skated this past weekend at two different skateparks. Turn 42 next week. Life is good!!

  • Absolutely lived on it during those days

Absolutely lived on it during those days. Replaced my 27" orange Bahne after I rode it to pieces. Smaller model with a diamond tail and kick block, Tracker Half-Tracks, and OJ wheels. Still have it today! I use it to move boulders, drill presses, toilets, etc. As well as the occasional ride, although the bearings are pretty much shot.

  • Had a Logan Earth Ski and all the time in the worl

Had a Logan Earth Ski, Tracker Trucks, Road Rider fours, and all the time in the world. If we were not surfing the Isle of Palms we were emulating the boys in California. Still have the board somewhere.

  • Not my first or my last, but it was the best

Could not agreemore! The Earth Ski was not my first or my last, but it was the best. ACS560's and Road Rider #4's. And the beautiful thing is that I still have the board after 30 years. Dog Town Rules.

  • Loved it and rode the hell out of it

My Earth Ski was not my first board, a yellow banana board, with a kick tail melted in by dear old dad was first. Then a Bahne fiberglass, man the shards in the arm from that one. But the Logan Earth Ski, my favorite, with 70 mm orange Krytonics on it and old Bennett trucks. I bought it from the Logans at a Air Force Wives Club Bazaar on Vanderberg AFB in 1977. Loved it and rode the hell out of it. One night when I was too stoned / drunk to skate I stashed it in some bushes. Everyone in the neighborhood thought their paperboy lost his mind (looked in everyone's bushes for blocks around) I have still not been able to forgive myself. Will never forget that Earth Ski and where it came from. Hope the lucky person that found it enjoyed it as much as me.

  • I put more miles on that board than I can tell you

Cool stories! Yeah I grew up in San Diego or better yet, Point Loma. I also got an earth ski and was riding a yellow banana board before that, I won the banana board form a radio station by calling in and being the 7th caller. But at any rate, I'm 42 and don't skate any longer, but reading this makes me want to go get a new board tomorrow and start having fun again. I too wish I had my old board. I too put more miles on that board than I can tell you. Those were the days your parents would let you go out all day and not worry about you. Bruce Logan was the man! That late 70's was a great time all together. So Cal was a great place to grow up as a kid - Sure has changed.

  • God, I wish I still had it!

WOW! Talk about bringing back memories. 25" oak, ACS 500s & Road Riders. I probably put more miles on that board than my first car. God, I wish I still had it!

  • It was pivotal point in my youth...

I saved $'s and begged my mom for the extra $$$'s needed to get out of my plastic banana board and into a Logan Earth Ski. It was pivotal point in my youth. I was a couple of years younger than the dogtown crowd, and lived in east hollywood but, I'd take the bus to Venice/Santa Monica back in 76-78 and ride my Earth Ski through the board walk while most were riding strand-cruiser's and four-wheel rollerskates. I loved that damned thing, and in 1978 someone weasel-rat-bastard stole it! It's a good thing I never found out who it was too! My daughter is now 13 and rides. I am building her a replica to keep her sharp on the turns. A smaller board makes you learn better. The Logan Earth Ski RULES!!!

  • The first real skateboard I owned

Damn I loved my Logan Earth Ski. It was the first real skateboard I owned. Heck, it was the first real skateboard made. It's 1977, and every boy in the neighbourhood is trying to find a way to buy one for himself. Solid wood, and rustic by today's standards, this was the plank that launched the craze. It launched me, and my friends, all over Hempsted Road, right through puberty, and past many a bump and bruise. Like yesteryear, that ride is long gone.
