Since coming to Australia over 30 years ago, I have been using tea tree oil. It is a natural antiseptic, antibacterial, germicide and fungicide and is harvested from the native Australian Melaleuca (or tea tree). It has been used in Aboriginal communities as a natural remedy for centuries and was later adopted by the early settlers as an essential item for the medicine cabinet. It has a wonderful, aromatic perfume, is cheap and easily available. I've used it for everything from healing nappy rash to keeping mosquitoes away and I wouldn't travel anywhere without it. Often referred to as "First Aid in a Bottle", Tea Tree Oil is 100% natural and environmentally friendly. I can't imagine being without it.
